Over the past 40 years, Donkervoort Automobielen in Lelystad has produced a lightweight sportscar on the basis of a steel tubular chassis, an ultra-lightweight carbon composite body and a suspension and drive train that is developed for usage both on road and track. The car is assembled entirely by hand. All major components are fabricated in-house, from the welding of the chassis till the production of all the carbon parts.
For the development of future car models, the electronical system layout of the car needs to be brought to the latest state of technology. To accomplish this, the engine ECU, the optional ABS, EPS, HVAC and affiliated systems need to be integrated and controlled by means of a PDM control unit. The wiring loom needs to be developed in a robust, reliable, lightweight and cost efficient way and integrated in the overall layout of the car.
The intern will work within the electronical engineering function and will support the development of the wiring loom and the integration and testing of automotive subsystems. The intern will come up with inventive solutions to problems. The intern takes care of the design, the realization and implementation of a test loom on a prototype car. The intern will fix the design into production drawings and make the concept production-ready, in conjunction with suppliers.
