For more than 40 years, Donkervoort has been producing a sports car based on a tubular steel frame, a lightweight bodywork and a sporty tuned chassis that is suitable for use on public roads as well as on the track as a so-called trackday-car. The car is completely assembled by hand and all main components are manufactured in-house, from welding the chassis to making all carbon components.
A prototype is currently being developed for the development of a future model. This prototype has to be assembled and developed. The challenge is to realize a working prototype, and to develop it into a production ready design.
The intern will be deployed within the position of development employee, helping with the assembly and developing/designing of prototype parts. This creates a nice mix between the designing and the production of parts.
Part of the internship will take place in the workshop, where the prototype will be built. On the other hand, it will take place in the engineering department where the products will be designed.
