Donkervoort x Ex-Core Debuts FORT-EX for the P24 RS
Thursday 14/08/2025)
Introducing FORT-EX
Donkervoort has revealed the next breakthrough in the development of the all-new Donkervoort P24 RS: FORT-EX, a structural subframe developed by Ex-Core Technologies that combines racing-grade handling precision with exceptional crash protection — all at just 9kg.
Created as a one-piece carbon-fibre monocoque, Ex-Core’s FORT-EX continues the P24 RS engineering narrative — joining a growing list of innovations, including Donkervoort’s all-new PTC engine and collaborations with turbocharging specialists Van der Lee Turbo Systems and 3D-printed cooling experts Conflux Technology — and showcases the carbon-fibre process’s most advanced and multifunctional structural role to date.
MEET FORT-EX IN CHAPTER 2, EPISODE 5 ↓
The Carbon Shield at the Heart of the P24 RS
Designed to function as both a rigid structural core and a sacrificial safety module, FORT-EX forms the physical and performance foundation of the front end. It serves as:
A suspension and steering anchor
A cooling system carrier
A crash-energy absorber
And a fully modular subframe, pre-assembled for rapid replacement
Built like a front clip from a World Endurance racer, the complete FORT-EX module includes crash cones, aero elements and the cooling package — all fitted before installation. In a frontal crash, it absorbs energy to protect both the occupants and the PTC engine, gearbox, and hybrid chassis beneath.
BUILT TO PROTECT, PERFORM AND FEEL. AND READY FOR SO MUCH MORE.
Scalable Innovation. Road. Track. Industry.
Ex-Core, originally developed inside Donkervoort and now a standalone composite innovator, is behind the advanced manufacturing process that made FORT-EX possible.
Unlike traditional carbon-fibre, the Ex-Core method uses expanding syntactic foam inside a self-heating mould to create highly complex, one-piece structures — with no need for brackets or bonded joints. The result:
Extreme stiffness for handling accuracy
Optimised crash absorption
Low mass with maximum form freedom
High-frequency vibration damping built into the structure itself
Already proven in Le Mans–winning WEC cars, luxury yachts, and advanced aerospace and defence components, Ex-Core now steps forward as a supplier with relevance far beyond automotive.
FORT-EX not only advances the all-new Donkervoort P24 RS — it demonstrates how Ex-Core’s technology can deliver in any context where performance, weight, and safety intersect.
From motorsport to mobility, aviation to energy, Ex-Core opens new pathways for structural thinking — and with it, new possibilities for innovation across industries.
NEXT UP IN CHAPTER 3
From design to testing — Chapter 3 reveals how every surface, system and gram of the P24 RS serves a purpose.
Including what it takes to integrate and test the all-new PTC engine — shaping the way the car moves, feels and responds.

About Donkervoort
Established in 1978 by Joop Donkervoort and now led by his son, Denis, Donkervoort Automobielen has sold approximately 1,700 cars. Operating from Lelystad, the Netherlands, with a team of more than 50 specialists, the company first gained widespread acclaim with the D10 in 1988, setting a world acceleration record. This was followed by the D8 270 RS in 2005, which set a Nürburgring lap record.
The F22, further integrating its patented Ex-Core carbon fibre technology, achieved an astonishing 2.3g of lateral acceleration at Circuit Zandvoort, exceeding the D8 GTO-JD70’s already impressive 2.1g benchmark. This milestone highlights Donkervoort’s relentless pursuit of performance and innovation.
Dedicated to crafting exclusive supercars fully tailored to their drivers’ preferences and ensuring the purest driving experience—whether an unfiltered connection to the road or track or a more refined balance of comfort and performance—the brand continues to embody the 'Living the Drive’ ethos. Looking to the future, Donkervoort has unveiled a new model, further reinforcing the brand’s bold evolution and unwavering commitment to innovation.
