ART OF AIR: How airflow helped shape the P24 RS

Designed to Defy the Air
To push the limits of the new P24 RS, we turned to advanced computational fluid dynamics. Using tools like AirShaper’s digital aero platform, we translated invisible forces into measurable gains — replacing the traditional wind tunnel with precision simulations and faster feedback.
Every swirl of air around the P24 RS’s open-wheel design was digitally mapped and analysed. The result? Cleaner flow, smarter downforce, and faster development without sacrificing purity or adding unnecessary weight.
AERODYNAMICS, BY INTENTION
Downforce. Balance. Stability. These aren’t buzzwords. They’re the invisible forces that shape how you feel a Donkervoort in motion — and what it means to Live the Drive.
To master them, we used high-resolution CFD simulations to visualise how air travels over, under and through the P24 RS. Our engineers focused on pressure zones, turbulence, and underfloor momentum — long before the first prototype turned a wheel.
Known for its work across motorsport, aviation and advanced mobility, AirShaper’s CFD technology helped us identify the most complex areas of the P24 RS — especially the flow around its exposed front wheels. This input fed into our design process, helping us refine the car’s aerodynamic balance with more speed and precision than ever before.
A good aero balance lets you go through corners faster and with more confidence.

The focus turned to the three most critical areas of flow:
The nose, reworked for cooling and front downforce
The underfloor, tuned to maintain clean airflow and momentum
The diffuser, reshaped to control how air exits the car
Each refinement strengthened aerodynamic performance without adding mass or complexity — true to Donkervoort’s decades-long pursuit of performance with purpose.
By embracing digital-first development, we moved faster, met aggressive design targets, and delivered aerodynamic gains with unprecedented control. And yet, airflow is only the beginning.
