The original BNCE
details
Donkervoort S8 1989
In true “No Compromise” fashion, Donkervoort has always explored the limits of what is possible in terms of weight reduction.
While the current BNCE edition of the F22 is very popular, this car takes us back to a time when stripping the paint from a car was a less common practice. All its aluminium panels have been polished, while the glass-fibre parts were painted black for the ultimate “panda” look.
This panda look and the philosophy behind it was particularly popular in Japan, where Donkervoort exported many S8 models between 1983 and 1990.
We’ve loved having it with us, but we also felt like the time was right to look for a new owner to take this Donkervoort Collection museum piece on new adventures on the road, doing what it was designed to do.
The car underwent a partial restoration by the Donkervoort Classics department in 2022.
This S8 is a piece of Donkervoort history and we look forward to its new owner writing his or her own history with this very rare and special S8.
The car comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a six-month factory warranty.
interior
Just like the exterior, the interior is all about simplicity and purity. The black leather bucket seats are enhanced by more modern six-point harnesses.
The leather of the dashboard and the steering wheel show marks of its previous life, while the rest of the interior, including the carpet, is like new.

Checked on 175 aspects
This S8 is the typical Japanese S8 from a technical standpoint. The car is equipped with two double-core Dellorto carburettors (the European versions used Webers). The car is also equipped with the optional heating system.
The second generation of S8s used a T9 five-speed gearbox, which made the car a lot more usable than the previous four-speed unit.
The car also has a very low mileage and it shows. The vehicle is in impressively good condition and the aluminium bodywork hasn't lost any of its shine.
A true piece of history for a collector or simply a real Donkervoort enthusiast!
